So... I have a lot to post.... which I will get to... in the next couple of days....
But I stumbled across this on the interweb.. thought it was pretty AMAZING!

I have been a complete Queen fan, since I came out of the womb, I'm pretty sure. I remember waking up to it blaring on the weekends as my mom was cleaning (which I have inherited the whole blast music while you clean), in the car, while my dad was testing out new stereo equipment. A part of me has always wanted to grow up in that era, where rock and roll, was really rock and roll.... and not this GreenDay or Paramore bullshit.

Well this gentleman was doing an audition to join a reunion tour (which if it ever comes stateside, I am so there with my pops..), and if Freddie Mercury were alive today, this guy could give him a run for his money. :)

So, if you haven't already noticed, I've posted at least a million pictures in several posts... so take a look at them and .. ENJOY.. just brace yourself there are a ton of photos....

the good news is..I'm officially caught up with posts on all the latest happenings!

the latest and greatest news is... Skyler just accepted a job offer at Ionic Media in Encino... he'll be doing a lot of developing, and he's really excited to expand his career there. Everything has been going really well with my new job, I honestly haven't ever felt like I was in a position where all my hard work was actually appreciated, which only motivates me to work harder. It is also an awesome feeling being back in a medical office, where even though it's minimal for now, I still have patient interaction...

I went with Rachel to pick up the newest member of their family... Patches, who is a delightful dapple dachshund... I will post some pics of him that I took later.

We really have just been enjoying that last few weeks of summer.... oh wait, haha summer never ends!! it is so totally awesome! not only that, I don't have to feel the worry and stress of school, but... in a weird/sick/twisted way, I miss it... I guess I more miss learning new things, but not USU... which has kind of pushed me in a pickle of what I want to do....I've been tossing around the idea of going into education, you know, I never ever really thought of this before, because let's be honest, the pay is shitty... but I do like little kids, and I think I have a lot to teach... however, I need to push beyond the huge dislike I have for other people's kids that I would like to punch out when they're being naughty...

Then of course, nursing... that still is an option...

but for now, I really am just enjoying doing what I do now, waiting to see where we'll go with Skyler's career as a developer, and possibly the FBI... he's a pretty amazing human, with such awesome capabilities, that he definitely doesn't give himself credit for.

I am going to start a sweet quilting project, so as that progresses, I'll post...and well I'm going to try my hand at gardening... donnn donnnnn donnnnnnnnnnn.... I definitely am not going to try things that we need to eat, but the occasional flower here and there ... hah!

Some like to think we may be borderline crazy, but this little dog has been such a blessing to our lives... she really isn't even like a dog, but really a part of our family... we have enjoyed and been blessed every last minute we've had with her, and though we faced some pretty significant challenges with her last fall, she certainly has overcome all odds... she's our super lady, and we just love her to pieces. Ventura County Fair and Hiking

so a couple weekends ago, it was the ventura county fair... this fair, I am telling you, is pretty incredible. seeing as I was only ever exposed to small ones, and the petty cache county fair, ventura county fair is literally like the utah state fair x 5.

so we thought it would be a fun idea to go on a small hike... or what we thought was going to be a small hike... after driving along the coast for a few miles, we pulled off the road and began... well about 5 hours and 10+ miles later, we eventually found our way back to the car

luckily we started early enough in the morning that it wasn't too hot. it was pretty cool to see the marine layer disappear as the morning progressed, but then as the sun was out full blast, I was not enjoying life... all and all it was a good time :)

wow, seems like monday comes far too quick... but.. I said I would post, and here I am.

I am completely beat... went on a hike, where we ended up more than lost, for about 5 hours... so 10ish+ miles later, here I am, dead tired, and sore! With that being said, and a sad sad loss for the Giants today... I'll get the parental trip posted probably tomorrow.... after the gym (no promises on the gym) ;)

also, wanted to wish my Grandma a VERY very VERY Happy Birthday! for anyone looking for inspiration, a little spiritual boost, or even a smile, my Grandma Shirley is the one to do that for you. She has been such a great person, and amazing role model... I still remember our vacation bible school days, remember memorizing bible verses, and that very profound day of accepting Jesus Christ as my personal savior in my heart. I still remember eating the homemade play-doh... (it was good, alright?) I love this little lady more than words can express, and miss visiting with her terribly, and can't wait to see her next month! So Happy Birthday Grandma, we love you!!!

it's Monday... again...

well fellow followers, you should all be relieved that I am just about caught up with the ole blog, so scroll on down to check out a couple of posts from my birthday and graduation...

I know I mentioned our website... but that is yet to come, I've been far to busy playing StarCraftII with Skyler ;) Which might I add, we placed in Gold for 2v2.. pretty awesome since I'm a noob. So for now I'll continue to update the blogspot and as soon as we get that site running, I'll let ya'll know.

Other than that, the first week at my new job went great, I actually started doing everything on my own today, which is pretty cool, because my boss had enough confidence and trust in me to do the job only after a week! I must admit, I was a little intimidated on my own today, but I think I did well. Oh yeah, I haven't told you about my new job.. lol

I started working at a Urgent Care/Family Practice, and am really enjoying it... I am in charge of all the billing that goes out of the clinic... it's nice because there are only a few repeater patients, and the rest are all new and different... so definitely a good change of pace from my previous job.

The staff is really cool, and took me under the wing pretty quick... they're all older women, which is nice, because there is no younger girl drama shennanigans... I am actually the youngest one there!

The transition between my old job and this one, was kind of rapid, and there were other factors involved, but I was very grateful to have my family in town to keep my mind off of all the crap stuff that was going on...Soo Hooray for new jobs!!

Other than that, nothing new to report... I finally had Skyler finish upgrading the iMac... so we're officially running Lion.. RAWR... I also uploaded about 2000ish pics from my family's vacation out here... so I just need to get them all organized and what not, and put them in a future post... who would've thunk so many pictures could be taken... but seriously having a nice camera promotes that.. as I mentioned before....

We are super excited, because the Ventura County Fair is going on, which is so much fun, and we'll be doing that this weekend... and in about a month, we'll be watching the SF Giants kick some ass up in San Francisco, which I'm so looking forward to.

So for music Monday, I thought I'd post this one.. it's called Running up That Hill by Placebo... I'm really digging this band... brings me back to my indie roots back in college (I can't believe I can say that lol) It by no means reflects my current mood or anything like that (because it is a little emo)... just has a cool sound to it.. and I'm all about that instrumental!

My Birthday & BeBers...

so.. 24.. I thought it'd be more painful than it was, but it wasn't. Turning 24 was... well, just another birthday. I can't believe that I'm 24, I still remember turning 18, but as another year goes by, I am pretty satisfied with how each year has progressed.

I can say that in the last year, I set the goal of graduating college... check, moving to california... check, get a decent paying job...check, being happy, healthy... check (still working on the healthy, but I am still alive with no ailments). Honestly I really have no complaints of all the things going on. I am pretty sure that I am going to dread #25... but I have a few months to worry about that :)

I had a great birthday, I unfortunately had to work, but had a sweet dinner with Skyler at Wood Ranch, and spent the following Sunday at Magic Mountain.. oh yea!

Some goals I have set aside for 24

-Lose Weight ... (is this like a common goal for anyone?)
-Get my craft back on (sewing, scrapbooking, decorating etc., all I haven't been able to do, due to full time school and work)
-Learn to Swim... (omfg, I know, I know.. I just can't get past my overwhelming panic and fear of drowning)
-Play piano again .. please feel free to donate any unwanted or unused... it's pretty sad, I cannot remember the last time I've played :(
-teach BeBe new tricks
-Forgive and Forget... I am sometimes guilty, ok maybe a lot of the time, of not letting things go, whether it be in my friendships, family and even marriage at times, life is just too damn short... I think I am already doing better t this
-Eat less sugar and carbs, this goes with the lose weight dealio.. I however, cannot cut them from my diet... am an addict.
-Watch less TV... let's be honest, if you know me, you know I watch every television program you can think of, and know more about celebrities than perhaps celebrities themselves... it will be hard letting go of Jersey Shore, Cupcake Wars, and Keeping up with the Kardashians... and I really am not going to make promises, because I think I may need rehab for this... lol
-Join a community rec team... yeah, that's right, I think softball or something like that
-Take a photography class
-Run a race, I am realistic, and saying a marathon is like me saying I'm going to lose 50 lbs... just not going to happen... so 5k 10k .. perhaps 1/2 marathon.. that is just what I'm going to say
-Keep up to date on the ole blog... well I know... I'm trying! haha

Well I could go on and on, but these are some main goals... and seeing as it's like summer 99% of the time here, I think they're all accomplish-able... that and I do have more free time

ahhh... so finally some graduation pics, I know, I know... 3 months later, but hey, I still got them up!

anyways, it was a good trip back to Utah to visit the fam, and of course get that diploma! crazy to think that I am a college graduate, but it was pretty awesome sitting next to my husband and graduating together.

we both agree however, that we feel pretty jipped with our education, I for one, am not using my degree for anything, and skyler feels that everything he's doing at work, he's learned on the job. this is perhaps because we are in complete awe of UCLA ... that campus sure blows any utah university out of the water, but hey a degree is a degree right?

I like to consider myself a pretty decent music conisseur, so I think I'll share my favorite songs/videos/lyrics every monday!

Right now, this song has been stuck in my head again and again, Demi Lovato's Skyscraper, some may think this is a little mainstream, but I just cannot get over the lyrics... there are several parts that apply to a lot of experiences in my life, and the outcome of every obstacle I have overcome.

Summer Update....

I know I've been really neglectful, but in my defense, it's been a crazy summer! My surprise from last post is, a new website that Skyler and I have been working on... we're going to be breaking the molds of the same ole Blogspot, and try something new!!

so, as soon as I get that up and running, I'll send the link here, and eventually all those who follow will just need to update their bookmarks.

We are also in the process of re-formatting and updating the OS on the iMac to Lion .. RAWR, hehe so as soon as that has been completed I have about 1000 pictures on my camera to upload from my birthday, to my parents visit and Skyler's birthday, so that should be exciting!

My old point and shoot is MIA, and I'm going to go ahead and say it was probably KIA... so luckily for my birthday, I received the coolest gift ... EVER, which is my new digital SLR, which explains the reason of so many pics. I am no photographer by any means, but believe me when I say having a nice camera sure encourages the taking of a lot of pics! all these pics are from my Instagram, and from my phone, so not the greatest....

with that being missing, I don't have the pics from the Lakers game we went to uploaded... so I promise, I'll have pics updated from graduation to current, and then will transition over to our new site.

I hope everyone is doing well, and that the summer has been great, I can't believe it's August already!! Normally I would be sad, because the end of July typically means fall and winter are coming, along with the crappy snow...but ... in CA summer never ends, which is fantastical!

In other news, I just started a new job today, which is great, I'm finally back in scrubs, doing what I love to do! Skyler is getting an awesome raise, and well, life couldn't be better! We certainly are on the right track to purchasing a house within the next year, and for me to never work again! haha jk jk, I don't think I could ever not work... :/ but I could just hang all day with my best buddy BeBe :)

Besides me being a pretty crappy blogger as of late, that's pretty much all for now, so brace and prepare yourselves for some awesome postings, and for the endless hours of enjoyment you'll have looking at my sweet pictures... I'm thinking I'm going to have to incorporate FLICKR so you can see them all...

Catch Up

So ... this challenge thing has been the only thing on my blog for literally the last month, so I figured for all those who follow us on here anyways, I'd play a little catch up, and let ya'll know what's been going on.

I've been really busy lately, and the reason is.. I was promoted at work. In less than 3 months at my job, I've been promoted to the Billing Manager at my company. This is a complete honor, and it's nothing compared to other "billing manager" positions I've held, not only that, I've been upgraded to the salary class... WAHOO! I've been really busy, because with my new responsibilities as the billing manager, I also have been doing implementations and trainings with clients across the country while maintaining entire client databases for doctor offices and surgeons across the country as well. So if you can imagine, it's a lot of work. I've also been presented with the opportunity to attend an academy and summit in Tennessee and North Carolina later this year. So things at work have been going rather smoothly I'd think. I feel like it's just crazy how opportunities are all over here, and being rewarded for the good hard work that I do, that just feels incredible all over as well...(mostly because I've always been taken for granted)..

Enough with the work...

What have we been up to in California...

Well we moved into a great apartment, so I'm still getting everything settled in, we after all decided to stay in Camarillo (we were considering Calabasas... which we still may do..). We've been busy working, and of course, adventuring around.

We went on a really fabulous hike, in the mountains in California (which some back home said California doesn't even have... lol). And since the hike the weather has been a little cruddy....

We went and saw Lady Gaga at the STAPLES center this past Monday, and HOLY cow.. that lady sure can put on a show. I think what I loved the most about her is that she is so honest with her work and who she is. At some points the floor was literally rumbling! Absolutely incredible. The coolest part was, it was her 25th birthday, and the crowd was so wild. It was completely packed in there, and it was the LOUDEST rendition of Happy Birthday I've ever heard. Overall it was a fantastic time!

This challenge is proving to be redundant, regardless, I'm not going to sit here and say I wouldn't change anything, however, there are a lot of things I wish I could change, but cannot. And there aren't really any pictures of that.

Any playlist that I have ever compiled whether for someone else, or for myself have all been with the same reason. The songs have meaning, and it may be that there was a moment involved, but also that the lyrics sometimes tell a story, or give meaning to situations where I just can't manage to find the words, and the artists can, and they do so eloquently.

Unfortunately it is a sideways picture... anyways, I know it's kind of gross, sorry. But this was the day that Skyler and his mom got stabbed, and I witnessed everything. Although I wish I could forget that day, and everything that it brought later, all the negative things associated with this day also brought a lot of new perspective in my life. The small things no longer taken for granted, and the small things don't hold a lot of weight on my life. It was just one of those nights that lasted forever, and I'll never forget, no matter how much I wish I could.

Day 21: Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?

Well, there is no such invention as a rewind clock, or time machine. I couldn't change what I said, everything I say, I usually mean. But if that was my best friend in a car accident, they would understand that fights are remedial, and best friends weather through the toughest storms. I would be there for my best friend, regardless or not if there was a car accident.

Well, I think that a little alcohol sometimes is good for people, and when responsibly drinking, it really does take the edge off. But I've also seen the ugly side of what drugs and alcohol do to a person, and witnessing first hand some of the most traumatizing events of my life, I would never touch a drug, not that it was even a consideration. Alcohol responsibly is fine, but alcoholism is ridiculous. And yes, I consider you an alcoholic if you drink just on the weekends, every weekend, every time you go out, or every day during the week.

I'm not a big reader ever, but one of the last books I've read that really made me change my thinking is The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. That book at the time really put things in perspective, and even now it really does. How the actions that you take as a person literally has a small or huge impact on the people around you. Good read, definitely recommend it.

Alright, so I caved. But I also thought it would be fun to participate in the "30 Day Photo Challenge" and "30 Day Challange". I think that it'll be a fun way to share information, perhaps some of it unknown, with my friends, and also give me something to look forward to besides re-watching the series the OC while I wait for Skyler to end work. The photo challenge is an attempt to try and get some pics up here, but the other challenge had some questions which some of you might find a little interesting. So here it goes:

Day 1: A picture of yourself with 15 facts

1. I am addicted to TV, I will without question, ALWAYS find something to watch on TV, I guess that's how I got addicted to the Jersey Shore. lol

2. I love video games, mostly WoW of course...and look forward to BlizzCon every year...

3. I loathe mediocrity and settlers

4. I really do not know how to swim...

5. I have too many weird OCD tendencies, ie. I color organize clothes, alphabetize everything, pick at my nails incessently, hate the sounds / texture/ feel of things (like pulling wet towels or jeans out of the washer...aaah!)

I know this might be a little bit of a "rub it in" post... but freak yeah... I can't even begin to yet again describe how much fun we're having in California. First and foremost, never have I experience 80degree weather in January, I love nothing more than the sun, and to be able to bask in it every day, wowsa, LOVE IT! The weather has been fantastic!

Right before we left, it seemed like everyone had something negative to relate to California, "Didn't you know it's going to fall into the ocean", "Have you seen the traffic?", "OMG CRIMES!", and the best one "Have you ever seen the price of milk?" Seriously WTF does milk have to do with anything? As if it was a life sustaining substance... delicious, but I wouldn't die without it.

First of all, the town we moved to has the same crime rate as Logan, and that's not by much. Yes there is diversity, which who doesn't like a little change in their life... seriously the same group of people, beating to the same drum, singing the same tune is rather boring **cough cough ...Logan...**. Traffic? Seriously, because there are actually "cities" and you have to drive more than 2 seconds to your destination... whatever. Falling into the ocean, LOL like the entire state of California is just going to drop into the ocean, I'm sure when that happens, hopefully humans will have evolved some gills or something, it's hardly going to happen in my lifetime... oh no what about my future kids... I'm sure they'll manage.

I just don't get the association between California and bad. Since being here, almost a month now, I have found so many things to do.... so many different mom and pop restaurants, beaches, parks, stores... holy sh!t, there are a ton of places to shop....I drive 14 miles to work, woopty-doo, I love the commute and the thinking time, and it takes a whole... 15-20 minutes. I feel so free, like, in a judgment free zone. None of this, "you're different", "trashy tattoo", "you have to settle for mediocrity"... I love the fast pace life, I love watching the sun set into the ocean, and rise over the mountains... honestly I can't get enough of this place. :)

When we told family, friends and coworkers we were leaving, the next thing was..."Do you have a job" LOL! First of all we're not stupid, and we're not lazy. I was never going to sit around and hope one landed in my hands, but we weren't also going to just wait in Logan and see what prospects were, that's how people get trapped in that dreadful place. Logan has about nothing to offer anyone with a college degree.....I landed a job 1 day after being in California, and Skyler.. well it took a little bit longer, but he just got hired as a Software Engineer on Thursday... how cool is that?

I guess moral of the post is... don't live your life, or worry about what others think or expect... I know you're probably thinking "OH DUH!" but seriously, I never in a million years imagined that I'd be living my dreams, where I want to be, graduated, working, and enjoying sunny California as my home.

Life has certainly thrown up it's fair share of roadblocks, but hey, it happens to everyone, it's just a matter of how you handle it, and turn it to your benefit.

Live your life, live your dreams, don't look back, look forward.

Someone once told me a really great quote from the bible, that I hold very near... "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:21

First CA Post

So we arrived in CA on the 31st of December in one piece. I say that because the drive from Logan to Mesquite, that normally takes 6 hours, took 13. It was awful. And as if Utah was going to trap us by blizzards! So not only did driving the U-Haul make it slow, but the snow as well.

I can't say I participated a whole lot in the driving, I was struck with tonsillitis and wanted to literally die.

The Saturday after we arrived, I had an interview, and... well got the job! I started last Monday! I don't know many people who can say they left their job and their home, went to a state without a job, and got a job so soon. I joke with Skyler that I didn't really play my cards right, because I didn't really get the chance to have a small vacation from real life.. have been in California for 8 days, and I worked 5! LOL!

The weather has be fantastic, I look at the weather every now and then in Logan, and I cringe, right now it's "chilly", mid 60s here, but nothing compared to the average <10 ... hehe. So we're loving the weather! BeBe has finally gotten situated, loves that she can pee on the grass anytime :)

I really don't feel like it's struck me as real, I mean we have all our things, but a part of me is still expecting that we have to go back to UT... so it's still surreal. I love my new job, our new location, the ability to have choices and... open stores on Sunday!! I have the ability to be who I want to be without someone passing judgment on me because I don't belong to a church, or that I have tattoos or sometimes swear! It's so liberating!

I haven't really gotten around to taking any pics yet, so sorry for boring wordy post. Just thought I'd update everyone on our California adventures...I'm super excited because we're planning a trip to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo in a month, and Disneyland! WOOHOO! We're probably going to take the pups to the beach too, sooo many exciting things to look forward too, and it's only just begun.

It's kind of bittersweet, yet at the same time surreal. I cannot believe that everything I know I've ever dreamed has come true, and all of my dreams and Skyler's dreams is coming true and right at our fingertips.

I think I've been very fortunate to be where I am today, and honestly I can thank my husband for that. I know I've worked extra hard this last semester, and previous semesters. Skyler has worked hard too. It just seems that it would be so fitting for us to start our new lives, in a new place, with new jobs. I don't think I personally could picture myself any other way, with anybody else, doing anything different.

This new journey finally hit me last week when I left my job. I honestly can say that I hated the place more than I loved it, but saying goodbye to my boss, and my team lead, my heart just broke. So I just wanted to do a shout out to Anna and Dr. Bergeson, you guys have been excellent mentors, inspiration and role models to me. I've learned a lot of life lessons at Providence Family Medicine, some the easy way and others the hard, but I couldn't of asked to have been given the opportunity to work with who I consider the most real, down to earth, at times blunt, people. Thank You guys for that.

Besides that, we're just finishing up the last couple of boxes, and will trek to California tomorrow, I'll miss a lot of things about Utah, can't say that I'll miss a lot about Logan, and the cold... I hope that you guys will all keep in touch.

Prosperous New Year to everyone.... may all your resolutions come true, and everyone look at it like a brand new opportunity to be a better you... I know that I will.

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family out there!

We couldn't of asked for a better Christmas than for 2 college degrees! Yes, it is true, Skyler and I both received our Bachelor's degrees, Skyler's is in Computer Science, mine in Human Movement Science. It was a pretty incredible feeling to complete school, even more so, that we'll be starting a whole new journey.... It is officially our last weekend in Utah! We will be California residents come December 31.

So they've arrived... we were very fortunate to have one of my best friends take our pictures this fall. Special thanks to Jackie Morrin, who took fantastic pictures of this crazy bunch this year...

We went down to Mountain Green, and used he grandparents farm as our back drop, and I think that they turned out great. BeBe especially had a blast running around everywhere, and nearly giving me a heart attack by testing her boundaries with a couple of horses... literally running figure eights around their feet... luckily the horses paid no attention to her. :))

I passed the CCA!!!

YAY!

not only am I nationally Certified Medical Assistant but a Certified Coding Associate as well! And within the week... college graduate! WOOHOO!

it's soon going to be ... peace out USU, peace out LOGAN, peace out UTAH!! Come December 30th, Skyler and I will be residents of California :)

I just couldn't contain myself... also amongst all this fun, I've been leveling my WoW character, lol talk about time consuming this expansion!

yup.. I passed my national Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam... I'm pretty excited about it, because I studied for it in the car on the way to SLC... either it was really easy, or I'm a super genius... Let's go with the second choice.

The good news, I thought that this test and expected this one to be way harder than the national Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam, which I will be taking on the 10th, so I am a little relived, then brought back to reality with finals the following week. PFEW!! Too many things going on, PLUSSSS, yes there is a plus... I have to write my billing bible for work and transform my replacement into the new billing manager... No stress at all right?

Skyler and I got a super awesome cotton candy machine as an early anniversary present from Chris and Rachel, and we purchased some of the sugar at a party store in clearfield. We were a little weary because we thought it wouldn't work, and surprisingly enough it made a delicious batch of cotton candy. I don't know if any of you guys were big Malcom in the Middle fans, but there was an episode where Dewey transformed their entire garage into a cotton candy landscape... I thought the kid was obsessed with cotton candy, till I met my husband. He not only loves the smell of cotton candy (has doused me multiple times @ walmart with the body spray :P), he could eat it for every meal. When he found out that Six Flags discovery kingdom had unlimited cotton candy buckets after he already purchased 5 bags, he refilled his bucket every 10 minutes... lol anyways...

Jackie took our pictures today too on her grandparents farm in Mountain Green, really beautiful location. I think she did a great job and cannot wait to see how they all turned out. While we were there, we found that BeBe has this weird liking to horses, and thought it would be funny to run around their feet, I was about 5 seconds from a heart attack, thanks to my sweet husband letting her off her leash... sheesh.

We also saw the new Harry Potter tonight. First of all, it was a really good movie, and I am anxious to see the second part. But I'm not 100% sure what all the fuss was about this alleged "sex scene". Give me a break... only in Utah, I might add. If that was a sex scene.. wow.. lol... wow. The only boob I saw was from the enormous black lady exiting the restroom while I was coming in, I mean seriously, they were burnt into my retinas. I don't know why they were out in the first place, but it was kind of like a zoo spectacle, and I'm sure she saw it on my face, because I definitely had the WTF face on.. lol

'tis towards the END of 2010!

So it's not officially the end of 2010, but pretty damn close already.

A lot of things have happened since my last post.

First of all meet my new baby.... I unfortunately had to steal these pics from the web, because it seriously is too cold outside, and I only manage to be outdoors to go to and from my car, class, work, and potty BeBe. But, it's pretty much the same deal, when we're in sunny CA I will be sure to post pics of me and my new car then :)

I am yet to come up with something clever to call my car... but here she is, 2010 Honda Civic LX-S. We originally were going to get an accord that was used (V6 EX-L 2009 w/7200 miles, however the girl @ the dealership was a 1000% RA-TARD!), so when we just stopped by the dealer in SLC, the nice Salesman (who creepily resembled and acted like Will Ferrell, super nice though) informed us the price of the brand new Civic with 0.9% APR was pretty much a steal. It feels good to have a new investment that we know has no problems and will last a long time, and seriously I cannot complain, I just got a brand new car! Thanks to my sweet husband for letting me have it as a super awesome graduation present. {Let's just hope Honda doesn't come out with a Prelude in the next couple of years}.

The coolest part about this car is the speedometer, it's all digital, so no fooling the coppers :)

Thanksgiving:
Thanksgiving was pretty chill this year, we decided due to recent events that instead of spending time with our families, that we would just hang out with our really good friends Chris and Rachel. It has been over 6 months since we last were able to hang out with them. So it was fun running the deserted town and just hanging out trying to keep warm.

We went and watched the movie 127 Hours, and WOW, that movie was pretty fabulous. If you don't know the story behind it, it's about the a guy who is hiking in Canyonlands, UT, and literally got stuck between a rock and a hard place. He had to cut off his own arm, and caution to the weak stomached, it was pretty graphic, but it seriously was an amazing story, so if you get the chance, check that movie out!

Other than that, pigged out on pizza, candy, soda, and a couple of adult beverages here and there. :) Definitely a fabulous time!

Other updates:
School is over in less than 2 weeks, and I know I don't just speak for myself for being ecstatic about that. I know I've said on here over and over again about how many different opportunities are just around the corner, but seriously I've become a little nervous and scared in the last few days.

I'm so ready to say "peace out" to USU, I haven't had a really good experience yet at USU, it seems that my advisor, who supposedly has been "advisor of the year" multiple times, hasn't been any help to me, and a few weeks ago had the gall to say that somewhere along the line I was missing some credits and wouldn't be able to graduate December 2010. Not only that, but that I didn't have any options to remedy the situation. So in between going to USU, BATC and work, I was able to convince Skyler to grab my transcripts from Weber State, and because I can be rather persuasive, had them attach the credits to my USU transcript. So I'm still a go for graduation, but damn, couldn't they spend all that extra money from student fees and tuition and hire some people with a brain? Instead I suppose the better investment is for a lousy football team, and multiple new buildings on campus and a welcome center? Whatever!

After a series of unplanned events, I started putting my resume and cover letter out and applied for a few jobs in California that I found on CraigsList about 3 weeks ago, I have been pretty excited, because I have already been contacted by a couple of employers and have a few interviews set up for our CA arrival... I'm pretty excited for that.

I will be taking my National Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam this friday, and my National Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam next friday, also with upcoming finals, the next few weeks should be pretty intense and exciting.

BeBe:
Holy cow, this girl is more and more of a blessing to us each and everyday. There really isn't a day that goes by that we don't smile because of her, and the best part of it all is that despite her really cruddy accident, you wouldn't even be able to tell she was ever hit by a car. It's pretty crazy how we find that there are things that BeBe does that reminds us of Skyler and I, it's actually quite eerie, regardless she's such a blast to have around.

I currently don't have all the time in the world... but World of Warcraft is releasing the new expansion 'Cataclysm' next week, and I'm soooo excited! I'm bummed out because Skyler said he won't be playing in this expansion, but I am hooked, and along with all my fun December endeavors, this will be one of them. Super nerdy, but I intend to make my character top of the server again... :)

MOVING!

Yes, it is official, the move is scheduled for December, I cannot wait to get the hell out of freezing frigid temperatures to beautiful southern California!!!!

My really good friend Jackie will be taking our photos this weekend, so I'm super excited for that, and will post those as soon as I get them as well. I don't think she has a website up yet, but her photos are VERY amazing, so if you're cool enough to check out her blog, you can find it on the left side of my blog. :)

Anyways, so I know this blog is kind of a rant.... too wordy, and probably less than exciting, but that's just my life (and a little of Skyler and BeBe's) as of late... I'm sure things will be more exciting. I'll keep everyone updated on the move, we do have a date set, however it hasn't been released yet to the media :). it was a sad evening. we had to say goodbye to the Prelude. however, the good news is, that was our one of our steps in prepping for the Cali move. I can hardly believe that in less than 30 days I'll be leaving my job, and even less than that Sky and I will have degrees, pretty crazy if you ask me. We never thought we'd be in this position and so soon.

It's actually kind of weird reflecting on the past, and then starting to see everything we've worked so hard for, and all are dreams start to come true. We still have a lot of people that may not necessarily agree with our plans, or approve our choices, but we're doing what we want to do. California is just such a huge door of opportunity. New People, New Places, New Experiences, a New Life, and I think that is just what us Cain's need.

So for the car that has been such a memory in our lives, and a huge part of Skyler's life (I was surprised I was more emotional letting the car go than he was.. :)), we know the Prelude is in good hands, and we're that much closer to moving!... oh and well perhaps I'm a little more excited because this means... I'M GETTING A NEW CAR!!!! What better way to celebrate a 2 year anniversary, graduation and moving? ... now for the hunt...

Guess who graduated PetSmart intermediate course? BeBe!

A little BeBe update, she had her 4 week checkup from the accident this last Friday, and he said that everything is on schedule for healing. She actually could have gotten the splint off, but because she was not 100% healed, and the fact that she's BeBe, we had him put it on again for another 2 weeks to prevent re-injury.

She's pretty much back to her normal self, getting into her usual trouble and mischief. You wouldn't even know that the accident happen besides her splint, and she becomes spooked a little bit more than normal.

Other than that, us Cain's up north are doing well, and we're just counting down the days to CA.

Meet Al'ar.

With so many changes that are going on in my life, I thought that I would commemorate all of the trials and triumphs that I have experienced that made me who I am today.

The phoenix represents a lot of different things, and depending upon your interpretation, I think that many can find it's representation applicable in some shape or form of their lives.

A phoenix is a mythical bird that is a fire spirit with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. The new phoenix is destined to live as long as its old self. It is said that the bird's cry is that of a beautiful song. The Phoenix's ability to be reborn from its own ashes imply that it is immortal.

I didn't really want to bore with all the historical details, but if you take a few minutes to research the phoenix, you'll find a lot of really intriguing information about this amazing creature...

So why did I decide to get this amazing creature tattooed on me forever?

So much has been changing in my life, most of all a huge dose of reality has hit me, and I'm about to turn a huge page in my life. With Skyler and I graduating in December, and moving January, it just feels like there are just so many dynamics about to change. But, without everything I've been through in the last few years, I would never be where I am today without those events.

Overall. I got this tattoo to commemorate my husband Skyler. Skyler is such a pristine example of what is good in this world, he's my best friend, he's my support, he's brave, he's strong, he's a nerd, he's a kind person to everyone he encounters, not only that, he is an example and a leader. Skyler has always been there for me through the good and the bad, through the ups and the downs, but most of all he's helped me to be who I am today. The tattoo is placed on the left rib cage because the biggest part of your heart is on your left side, so it's to represent my whole heart dedicated to Skyler.

Being born from flame and raising from the ashes. I feel like there was a time in my life where I never thought things would turn around, and Skyler came into my life. I was a wreck, emotionally, mentally, and financially. Skyler was such an generous and influential friend at the time and helped me turn my life around. Who would've known that that friend would become the person I would spend the rest of my life with? I was never initially considering such a relationship with Skyler, especially after my previous one, I didn't want to do anything with "Love" again, but it's like I've heard before, sometimes out of nowhere love gives you a fairytale.

Growing up, I always felt like life was a competition. My siblings and I were so close to each other, that it really became a competition, about who was more talented here, who was smarter there, and I don't think that the stress of all that pressure really hit me till college. So I feel that who I am now, really came from flames.

Constant Change. I feel like that I am always changing and evolving into a better me, with everything I do every single day, I'm always trying to change and be the best me, not just for me, but for those around me. There have been so many changes, from meeting my husband, getting married, getting our BeBe, work, school, that I haven't ever been in a constant state for more than a minute. To represent always remember to change and be the best me, I can look at the phoenix for a reminder.

Colors. The colors represent what a multitude of colors would mean to anyone. I have such a desire for life, and all our new adventures about to unfold, it would've been silly just to only have a few implemented into the tattoo.

Now, I understood and understand that there will be and is criticism as to why I did it. And honestly, I don't regret having the work done for a second. In fact, I thought that having it done was perfect timing for all the changes, for the past, for the future. I've always wanted to have a tattoo done, and never planned on having a phoenix, but I'm glad that's what it ended up being.

I have taken a lot of criticism, but at the end of the day, I haven't changed. I'm still the Dory I was a couple of months ago, and if anything, I feel more strong and empowered, and in such a good place in my life, that what really anyone says doesn't matter.

I have to give a special thanks to James Zehna at Sailor Jim's Electric Tattoo in Logan, for not only bringing my vision to life and making such a beautiful piece of art on my body. I couldn't of possibly imagined it to come out more perfect than it did, the colors with all their vibrancy, the intricate details, and the painful hours upon hours :), I really cannot put into words when I look at the phoenix how amazed I am every time.

Al'ar is what Skyler named it, and if you're curious to know where that came from , it's the Phoenix God in World Of Warcraft.... I know this is super ridiculously nerdy, but, have you met my husband?

I'd first like to start this post with a really good quote...

I can honestly say that this past week and past few weeks, life definitely has challenged me. Just when I think that I have it all figured out, managing the stress of my workload and school and family, the worst thing I could possibly ever imagined to my little BeBe.

It was our typical busy Monday, school in the morning, work the afternoon away, and BeBe's PetSmart class to top it all off. BeBe did fabulous at class, showing all the new commands and tricks she learned off to all the big-dogs, we came home. Skyler and I decided to get something to eat {I was too tired to cook}, and we wanted to get some ice-cream afterwards. Normally little BeBe comes with us, we will hit a drive through and come home and wind down....but because we were going to get ice-cream, I decided to leave BeBe home.

BeBe normally handles us leaving pretty good, she does have a little separation anxiety but no more than normal....We came home after about 40-45 min, and when we lock the car and the horn honks, BeBe usually peeks her little head in the living room window {Basement Condo}, or if she's really excited, she'll just go straight to the door. LITERALLY the worst feeling came over Skyler and I, which was, there was no greeting by BeBe, no whines from being trapped in another room, and I immediately checked the window, and it had been cracked open and the screen pushed out..... panic set in, and we just ran outside, screaming for BeBe, asking the neighbors if they've seen or heard her....and then........nothing.

I've never been so sad in my life, and tears just began to flow.....BeBe was missing, and gone. I walked around the blocks in my neighborhood, rode a bike with semi-flat tires, drove my car honking my horn...and still nothing. After about 2 hours, I assumed the worst, and my dad told me to start printing flyers ... I then walked around with her squeaker toy, and in between my sobs of calling her name, and squeaking her toy....nothing.

With as fabulous a town Logan is, there was no Animal Control on duty... and the microchip is apparently useless {unless the dog is picked up and scanned}. I started to accept that either I was going to find her body on the side of the road, or someone found her and wouldn't give her back, she of course was wearing her training collar, not the harness with her name tag and info on.... :( After feeling like a huge part of me inside felt dead, and that there was no hope, Skyler called me and said that he was called by dispatch and they found BeBe. I had no idea her condition, and at that time I didn't care...BeBe was just a few blocks south of where we lived, and because we thought that she had tried to follow us, we had went every direction but south... The officer told Skyler that she had been hit by a car, and had broken legs, and when I ran through the blocks and we saw her for the first time, I just felt so bad.

BeBe had been running around in circles, with her leg limp and flopping, and blood everywhere, but she was alive and found. It's very hard for me to handle blood or injuries on the people/dog I love, so I couldn't even pick her up, Skyler grabbed her, and I called the vet as fast as I could. I drove as fast as I could about 5 miles from where we live going about 60 mph. I had no idea if BeBe was in shock, what internally was going on, and I just started going even more crazy. Again after a what seemed like another lifetime while at the vet, I couldn't even gather myself to go into the exam room, Skyler, the Vet and BeBe came out, and everything looked positive.

BeBe sustained a broken arm, lacerations and road rash everywhere, but overall had all her appendages and organs ... BeBe literally was so lucky, to have not only survived being hit by a car, but to have come out with minimal damage. I had been traumatized before by seeing what a dog looks like before, after being hit by a car, and nothing could I of ever possibly imagined was the turnout of our situation.

It's been 3 days since the accident, and BeBe truly is a fighter, it still breaks my heart to see her with her little splint, and stitches, hobbling everywhere, and the pain in her eyes. It hurts even moreso that she can't tell me how bad it hurts, or where it hurts more, so I've missed some classes and even work and even sleep just to make sure she's ok. We had another little scare because her wounds became swollen, and some of her stitches came out, so we've had multiple visits to the vet today, and are even considering putting up a tent.

I've become a hypochondriac with her, and worry about every difficult breath, or shake, or sneeze or cough. The whole situation has just made me more humble, and count every blessing. BeBe honestly isn't just a "dog" or a "pet", she's a part of our family, she's practically my child, and I know I speak for Skyler in saying that our world revolves around her, we love her that much. The thought of even losing her, even right now, really makes me sick to my stomach. I know I definitely will not take our time together for granted, or the quirky little things that she does that make me always smile. We're so so so lucky to have our little BeBe home and in tact and safe.

I know it's been a long post, but I had to write my feelings down for my Beebs, and to let the world know just how much Skyler and I love her.

I appreciate the help of all those who came to help find her, my family for keeping me calm when I seriously lost control of myself, and for everyone being patient with me while I get back on track. Thank You Thank You again....

Other than that, there's a surprise that I'll post next Saturday, about me, and my sister Debbie gets married tomorrow, OMG, I am so excited for her, I'll post those pics as well. It's been a long week, and though many know I don't have a whole lot of religion playing a role in my life, the Cain's have definitely had a guardian angel looking over us this week, and that God really answered my prayers in finding her that night. Honestly, I'm really bad at updating this blog, but I'm trying.

We've started school for our last semester EVER at USU. Thank GOD! And have just completed the first week. It's official, the countdown is own to the move to CA, we cannot wait. Come 2011 we'll be out of mind out of site of Logan.

For those who don't know, we are very excited for all the changes that are coming up with graduating and our move, and Skyler is applying for the FBI in December. He's been working his butt off to get in shape, and gain weight! I wish that that was my problem... :) So keep your fingers cross, and that he'll get that interview. If he does get accepted, I don't know where we will end up, Virginia for training, and wherever they send us. I am really excited, because I have never seen Skyler so excited for something in my life.

Other than that, the usual. It just seems that life is changing so quickly, my family is changing with sisters getting married and my baby brother in college, everyone is moving...we're all getting older. It's just crazy to think of when I was in high school and just finishing high school, it's really surreal. But at the end of the day, I'm ready for the changes, bring it on world, we are ready!!

Well it's the start to probably the worst events to come... ever.... finals..... BOOOOOO!!!! On the bright side however, it'll be the second to last finals that I'll ever have to encounter, so woohoo to that!!

Past week events, Skyler turned 26 on Friday! It was a pretty fun day, we didn't do anything too exciting, because we ran into an unexpected expense on my car. The regulator and motor on the driver's side window decided to die, so we had to get it fixed. However we are planning to go to Lagoon next Sunday to celebrate!

We did take BeBe to the Wellsville Dam on Friday, and she learned how to swim!! I couldn't of been more proud of my little baby, she had a scary experience the last time she was there, so we were really surprised she just jumped in and swam. Of course she was trying to be as cool as her black lab uncle, and.. she was. She loves it, she picked up all the gross moss and everything. I cannot believe she'll be one this month, we're... well more I, am planning on having her a little dog party with all her dog friends, so I'll keep everyone posted on that....

We then started to think what it really meant.... we will be traveling to UT for our vacations!!!!!! **queue creepy/scary/screeching music** I guess it won't be so bad, because we love our families...
